Bridge City Collective is proud to team up with two great organizations to provide help for families in need this holiday season. From 11/24 to 12/31, we’ve got drop offs at both of our locations for items for the Oregon Food Bank and for JOIN. We encourage you to drop by and bring in stuff they need.

What to donate to the Oregon Food Bank

The Oregon Food Bank seeks to alleviate hunger and its causes in Oregon. Your food donations can be a big help. Here’s what kind of food they’re looking for:

Food

Shelf-stable milk
Foods high in protein: canned meats like tuna, chicken, or salmon, canned or dried beans
Foods high in nutrients: canned fruits and vegetables (preferably with reduced sodium and reduced sugar)
Whole-grain foods: brown rice, whole grain cereal and whole-wheat pasta
Soups, chilies and stews (preferably with reduced sodium and reduced fat)
100 percent fruit juice (canned, plastic or boxed)
Unsaturated cooking oils
Other nutritious foods (preferably with reduced fat, sodium and sugar)

The Oregon Food Bank can’t accept:

Rusty or unlabeled cans
Perishable items (unless you’re a food industry donor)
Homemade items
Non-commercial canned or packaged items
Alcoholic beverages, mixes or soda
Open or used items

NOTE: If you donate glass products, please box or bag them separately and label the box or bag “GLASS” on all sides.

What to donate to JOIN

JOIN exists to support the efforts of homeless individuals and families to transition off the streets and into permanent housing. Since 1998, JOIN has helped over 8,200 people leave the chaos and danger of the streets for the safety and stability of home. The items that we accept can be new or gently used.
